'Pataal Se Bhi Khod Ke Le Aayega': Himanta Sarma Hits Back At Pawan Khera

Guwahati: Ahead of Assembly elections, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday lashed out at Congress leader Pawan Khera over his wife's passport issue, stating that the state police would track him down and "Pataal se bhi khod ke le aayegi."

The development comes after Congress leaders, Pawan Khera and Gaurav Gogoi, on Sunday held press conferences in New Delhi and Guwahati claiming that Assam CM's wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, have three passports and controlled assets worth Rs 52,000 crore through a Wyoming-based company.

In response, Himanta Sarma alleged that material used in recent press conferences by Congress leaders had links to a Pakistani social media group

Assam CM also said that his wife has filed an FIR against Pawan Khera over allegations that she holds three passports of the UAE, Antigua-Barbuda and Egypt.

Now on Tuesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lashed out at Congress leader Pawan Khera over his wife's passport issue and said that "Do you not know the Assam Police? Pataal se bhi khod ke le aayegi (we will drag him out even from the depths of the netherworld). Where is Pawan Khera hiding? This is the land of Assam. Who exactly does he think he is? Pataal mein bhi chup gaya toh hum utha ke le aayenge (Even if he hides in the deepest abyss, we will bring him back)."

In the passport case, a team of Assam Police arrived at the residence of Congress leader Pawan Khera in Delhi on Tuesday for questioning but he was not found and was informed that the Congress leader had gone to Hyderabad.

While talking aboyut the documents, Himanta Sarma said, ""Before levelling an allegation, he should have asked the foreign minister. Kharge ji has aged, yet he speaks like a madman. Assam Police can find and bring people from 'pataal' as well. I suspect Rahul Gandhi has given him these documents. So this case will extend to Rahul Gandhi. Do not try to scare us. This is Assam, and we have fought against Islamic invasion 17 times."
